101 Tips for Graduates - Book Review

101 Tips for Graduates: A Code of Conduct For Success & Happiness in Your Professional Life ........................... Be Yourself - Lead By Example ... ....................................................................... I am sharing some tips from a book I reviewed in 2005. ............................................................... Natural leaders earn a respect as a result of what they do, not because of who they are. ............................. Think about the leaders who have a positive influence in your life. Is there a special teacher, family member, friend,or other role model who's helped guide you? Think about the people you respect, those you turn to for advice. ...................................................................................................................... Be sure you don't overlook the leaders in your life - the people who've taken time to talk with you and help you. ...................................................................................................................... Some people create and inspire change in others. They don't consider themselves to be great leaders and may not even realize they are making a difference. They simply lead by being who they are. ......................................... You guide and influence people every day whether you do it intentionally or not. .................................................................................................................... Your words have more impact than you think - think about the things you say. .......................................... Strive to be your best and bring out the best in others. .............................................................. On a plane ride from Atlanta, the author was thinking about all the work she had left to do before she could get her business up and running. After spending several days with Susan Bixler, a successful and respected image consultant in Atlanta, she had earned her certificate as a corporate image consultant. .............................................. The author met with Gail, a friend of hers who is a psychologoist, a few weeks later. She told her about some of her concerns and asked her to work with her on a few projects. ............................................................ Gail told the author you've got everything you need to succeed. People might have awards and degrees decorating their walls, but many of them hide behind their credentials. They need to hear what you have to say. ....................... The author said her friend reminded her to be herself. ................................................................ Be yourself. There is nothing more attractive than genuineness and authenticity. ___ Maggie Mortenson ................. The author interviews have been show cased on countless radio and TV programs and in major publications, including The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Fox News and CNN. ..................................................................... 2-11-2003 .. Damascus Will Cease To Exist

http://injesus.com/message-archives/christian-living/ChristianThinkers/fwd-angelaswisdomdamascus-will-cease-to-exist Written by Angela Watkins 2-11-2003 . [Thinkers, -- This is remarkable thinking. Angela emphatically states that she is not a prophet, but only brings out what the Scripture says, what is there within it; and sticks to the Scripture. I find myself fascinated by her points. -- Ellis] THE BIBLICAL TRUTH ACCORDING TO THE HOLY SCRIPTURES: And again I am jumping ahead of some of my studies but it will be okay. IMPORTANT: I am not predicting when but I am teaching according to the Holy Scriptures. There are some tuff days ahead... Isaiah 17:1-14 and Jeremiah 49:23-27 - will Damascus cease to exist in the end times? ISAIAH 17:1-14 verses 1 - 3 The burden of Damascus, Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap. The cities of Aroer are forsaken: they shall be for flocks, which shall lie down, and none shall make them afraid. The fortress also shall cease from Ephraim, and the kingdom from Damascus, and the remnant of Syria: they shall be as the glory of the children of Israel, saith the LORD of hosts. OTHER NATIONS - NOTICES OF GENTILE NATIONS - PROPHETIC & DENUNCIATORY "WARNING" verses 4-6, 9-11 And in that day it shall come to pass, that the glory of Jacob shall be made thin, and the fatness of this flesh wax lean. And it shall be as when the harvestman gathereth the corn, and reapeth the ears with his arm; and it shall be as he that gathereth ears in the valley of Rephaim. Yet gleaming grapes shall be left in it, as the shaking of an olive tree, two or three berries in the top of the uppermost bought, four or five in the outmost fruitful branches thereof, saith the LORD God of Israel. In that day shall his strong cities be as a forsaken bough, and an uppermost branch, which they left because of the children of Israel: and there shall be desolation. Because thou hast forgotten the God of thy salvation, and hast not been mindful of the rock of thy strength, therefore shalt thou plant pleasant plants, and shalt set it with strange slips: In that day shalt thou make thy plant to grow, and in the morning shalt thou make thy seed to flourish: but the harvest shall be a heap in the day of grief and of desperate sorrow. TILLING OF GROUND - EMPLOYMENT - SORROWFUL HARVEST verse 7 ...At that day shall a man look to his Maker, and his eyes shall have respect to the Holy One of Israel. OBEYING GOD - DUTY TO GOD - WAITING ON GOD verse 8 ... And he shall not look to the altars, the work of his hands, neither shall respect that which his fingers have made, either the groves, or the images. IDOLATRY - GROVE WORSHIP FORBIDDEN verses 12, 13, 14 Woe to the multitude of many people, which make a noise like the noise of the seas; and to the rushing of nations, that make a rushing like the rushing of mighty waters! The nations shall rush like the rushing of many waters: but God shall rebuke them, and they shall flee far off, and shall be chased as the chaff of the mountains before the wind, and like a rolling thing before the whirlwind. And behold at eveningtide trouble; and before the morning he is not. This is the portion of them that spoil us, and the lot of them that rob us. OTHER NATIONS -- ENEMIES OF ISRAEL JEREMIAH 49:23-27 verses 23 - 27 Concerning Damascus, Hamath is confounded, and Arpad: for they have heard evil tidings: they are fainthearted: there is sorrow on the sea; it cannot be quiet. Damascus is waxed feeble, and turneth herself to flee, and fear hath seized on her: anguish and sorrows have taken her as a woman in travail. How is the city of praise not left, the city of my joy! Therefore her young men shall fall in her streets, and all the men of war shall be cut off in that day, saith the LORD of hosts. And I will kindle a fire in the wall of Damascus, and it shall consume the palaces of Ben-hadad. 25 Principles For Leadership That Matters - Book Review

Leadership is always a theological enterprise in the sense that our most important beliefs and convictions are about God. .................................................................................................................. Dr. Mohler mentions several leaders on a national level good and not so good. I loved the comment that he made about the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. ................................................................................... For the Christian leader, the frame of reference for leadership is infinitely greater. Our leadership is set within the context of eternity. .................................................................................................. In Daniel 4 we learn of Nebuchadnezzar, King of Babylon, one of the most powerful monarchs in human history. God judges Nebuchadnezzar for his arrogrance and pride, and he takes Nebuchadnezzar's kingly sovereignty away from him. Later, after a humbling lesson, God restores Nebuchadnezzar to his former greatness. ......................................... After all this happens, Nebuchadnezzar speaks of the lessons he has learned about who is truly sovereign, and he testifies that sovereignty belongs to God alone, stating that "his dominion, and his kingdom endures from generation to generation" (Daniel 4:34) ............................................................................................. No one can truly thwart God's plans or frustrate His determination. It means that we are secure in the knowledge that God's sovereign purpose to redeem a people through the atonement accomplished by his Son will be fully realized. ...... Those who lead are entrusted with a stewardship that comes ultimately from God and in the end will be judged by him alone. ................................................................................................................ We know that character matters when we hire a baby-sitter. How can it not matter when we are calling a leader? ........ You should read a book or article only for what it is worth. If you find that the book is not contributing to your life and leadership, set it aside. Time is more valuable than money. ....................................................... Keep a couple of books ready for reading, and take a couple with you as you travel. ................................... Test everything you read by viewing it through the lens of biblical truth and your convictions. Those who would lead with conviction must read with conviction. ............................................................................ We can learn a great deal from the secular world and its studies and practices of leadership, but the last thing the church needs is warmed-over business theories decorated with Christian language. ...................................... The requirements of stewards is that they be found faithful. That's why leadership is only for the brave. ............. Leaders are subject to the same laws, morals, principles, and expectations as the rest of humanity, but the moral risks are far higher for them. .............................................................................................. When difficulty comes, and it will come, loyalty is what we give to each other and to the cause we serve. That loyalty has to start at the top. .............................................................................................. Loyalty is hard to maintain in a world of no-fault divorce, broken contracts, and collapsing corporations -but it remains essential. ................................................................................................... Leaders have unique abilities, but they received these talents and the ability to develop them as gifts from God, given for the good and welfare of others. ................................................................................... It's not about us - even though we are given the platform, the position, and the prominence within the organization. The gifts were given to us in order that we might serve others. ....................................................... Those who follow you know that you have weaknesses and foibles, so let them share in the humor you direct at yourself. ................................................................................................................... Humor is the virtue of allowing people to see your humanity and your comfort in being fully human, quirks and all. .................................................................................................................... Leaders know how to laugh with their team, with the public, and at themselves. ....................................... Humor must never be crude or disrespectful, but it can build respect. ................................................. Dr. Mohler saw an example of this when President Barack Obama welcomed former President George W. Bush to the White House for the unveiling of his presidential portrait. The political tensions were incredible. Obama had run against the record of Bush in 2008, and Bush would be doing everything possible in 2012 to prevent Obama from a second term in office. That's politics. ............................................................................................. Humor was brilliantly used by both presidents to humanize the occasion. Obama paid tribute to Bush, and then jokingly thanked him for leaving "a really good TV sports package" on the White House cable system. "I use it," Obama said. Bush, in turn thanked Obama and then told the incumbent president that he could now look at the portrait from time to time and ask, "What would George do?" ................................................................................ Leaders who want to make a a difference, and make that difference last, must write. .................................. Email has now become the standard means of communication, displacing not only the printed letter but also meetings, phone calls, and oral discussion. ..................................................................................... Leaders write newsletters, memos, correspondence, articles, columns, and books in order to extend their reach and deepen the impact of their leadership. ................................................................................ While writing is demanding, its rewards are truly great. .............................................................. The digital world is driven by its entrepreneurial and ideological pioneers and cheerleaders, and they are a multitude. ................................................................................................................... Cell phones, originally the toys of the rich and powerful are now more popular than landline phones in the poorest regions of the globe. ................................................................................................ Facebook, the central fixture of social media (for now), was launched in February 2004 and now links more than 900 million users worldwide. Twitter, the micro-blogging sensation, was launched in May 2006 and boast 140 million users who post 340 million tweets each day. ................................................................................. For many Americans, Twitter represents the leading edge of news and communication. .................................... A teenager with a computer can create a blog that looks more authoritative than the blog written by a CEO of a Fortune 500 Corporation - and perhaps read by more people as well. ............................................................ If you want to influence the future, brace yourself and get in the fast lane. ......................................... Content is king. ...................................................................................................... Your web presence advertises to the world who you are, what your organization is all about, and the seriousness of your commitment to that mission. .......................................................................................... No book can broadcast ideas as quickly and inexpensively as a blog. ................................................... Learn how to use links, images, and social media to drive people to your blog. ........................................ As with the digital world as a whole, there are dangers and traps. Social media can be used for good or evil. Social media will soon dominate all other forms of digital communication. ................................................... If you are not on Twitter, and if you are not working and following it regularly, you are missing a massive leadership opportunity. .......................................................................................................... The old media are tightly contained and controlled by large corporations or organizations. The digital world opens the opportunity for you and your organization to become a producer of video and audio content without the massive investment. ........................................................................................................... Creating a podcast is a powerful opportunity for a leader, but you can start small. ................................... A leader ready for influence and leadership in the digital kingdom needs, at the very least, access to the Internet and support for a presence there. You do not have to own a computer, but you do need one close at hand that is connected to the Internet. ......................................................................................................... Leaders are readers, whether in print or on screen. Leaders have a message, and should be ready to use every appropriate platform and technology to get it out to others. .......................................................... In the book of Ecclesiastes, we find a breathtakingly beautiful testimony to the meaning of time. (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8) ..................................................................................................................... The first thing that we learn about time in the Bible that God created it and that time is contrasted with eternity. God is not bound by time, and he created time as a feature of the creation that reveals his glory. ................... The Christian leader knows that our time is in God's hands. We cannot add time; we can only exercise stewardship over the time we are given. (Matthew 6:27) ................................................................................ Everything humans build will one day be reduced to ruins, but our lives and our leadership will, in Christ, have eternal consequences and impact. ..................................................................................... The leader knows a time to work, a time to rest, a time to plan and a time to act, a time to read and a time to speak, a time to play and a time to fight. ................................................................................... Leadership requires maturing, learning, adapting, rethinking, and retooling. None of these things come fast or easily. ...................................................................................................................... Truth is eternal, established by the God who is eternal. The truth endures, and so must we. ........................... Leadership, in other words, is perishable. We know that our leadership, no matter our age, is a temporary stewardship. We are creatures made for a specific time and a specific opportunity and a unique stewardship of influence, life, and energy. We have a limited opportunity to make a difference, and make it last. ......................................... Time and opportunities are precious and perishable. ................................................................... The style of the leader is a personal signature. Your tastes will not be the tastes of the future. What matters is that the convictions survive. ............................................................................................. The patriarchs and prophets of Israel define leadership by conviction, as do the apostles in the New Testament. ....... The determination of the patriarchs in the Old Testament: Abraham, Issac, and Jacob all built for future generations. Great chapter of faith in the Bible (Hebrews 11:13) .................................................................. The loss of a secular institution is a shame. The loss of an institution founded on biblical truth is a tragedy. ...... If the concerns is merely financial gain and organizational aggrandizement, legacy will not matter much. ............. The leader unconcerned about leaving a legacy is a leader who will leave the job undone. .............................. Bethany Publishing sent me a copy of this book for review. ............................................................ Dr. R. Albert Jr., became the youngest member in the 153 - year history of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. In the process he became one of the most important and prominent Christian voices in contemporary culture. ............ He is president of the Southern Baptist Convention's flagship school, as well as radio personality, blogger, and sought after commentator. .................................................................................................... Dr. Mohler has been quoted in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, and USA Today. ................................................................................................................................................................ He has appeared on such national news programs as Larry King Live, NBC's Today Show, Dateline NBC, Good Morning America, The NewsHour with Jim Lehr, and The O'Reilly Factor. ......................................................... He lives in Louisville, Kentucky with his wife, Mary

2 - 10 - 2013 Sermon Notes

Sharing my notes from Church on Sunday 2 – 10- 2013 from my Pastor’s Sermon. .......................................... Stepping Into Your Dreams – Sermon Title .............................................................................. Sermon Scripture – Joshua 4:4 – 8 ..................................................................................... Sometimes our dreams become a reality — but we have to step by faith. ................................................. There is a Jordan River you have to cross. ............................................................................ Sometimes Jordan River is not easy to cross. .......................................................................... You have to step out sometimes. ....................................................................................... God has something bigger for you. ..................................................................................... Some people have a tendency to back up instead of stepping out on faith. .............................................. There is much growth that I need. ..................................................................................... There is a growth process that we are going to need to cross. ......................................................... You have a bright future. ............................................................................................. We have to break generational curses. ................................................................................. God has a way of dismissing generational curses. ...................................................................... Examples of people who would not give up: ............................................................................. Henry Ford – went bankrupt five times ................................................................................. Walt Disney – went bankrupt .......................................................................................... Beethoven – was deaf .................................................................................................. You must be persistent, try and try again. ............................................................................ Everybody has to cross the River Jordan. .............................................................................. It was time for Israel to cross the Jordan River. .................................................................... Step out on faith on the ministry of God. ............................................................................. Keep your eyes on God. ................................................................................................ Joshua 4:1-4 they waited for three days; it had been a long forty years. .............................................. Moses got to the edge of the river and never crossed. ................................................................. The Ark of the Covenant represents God. ............................................................................... God is up to something. ............................................................................................... Sometimes God grabs us and takes us out of our comfort zone. .......................................................... Joshua had to step up, for Moses was gone (deceased). ................................................................. You have to follow God in order to get into Canaan. ................................................................... The cattle on a 1000 (thousand) hills belong to HIM, all the silver and the gold belong to HIM. ....................... Sit and wait on directions. ........................................................................................... Follow the Ark and keep your eye/mind on God. ......................................................................... If you have to work for what you get – it has more meaning to its value. ............................................. When you’re saved you don’t sit down – you have to work out your Salvation. .......................................... I know how I’ve made it – I trusted in God. .......................................................................... When you step out on faith – God will guide you. ...................................................................... You may not get your blessing right now – but “Stay on the Battlefield.” .............................................. To get prepared you have to listen to God’s instructions. ............................................................. Nothing will happen to you – step off the river bank. ................................................................. You’re going to have some Jordans. ................................................................................... Without faith it is impossible to please God. ......................................................................... My God won’t send me anywhere without making a way. ................................................................... God loves us. ......................................................................................................... God has a bigger job for us to do now. ................................................................................ God is still here and still in the blessing business. ................................................................. God has all power in HIS hand. ........................................................................................ We’re not telling our children what God is/has done in our lives – this is the problem. .............................. Tell your children how you stepped out on faith. ...................................................................... God is not through with me yet. ....................................................................................... I’m going to see the man name Jesus one day. .......................................................................... End of my notes for 2-10-2013

Leadership - By The Book - Bible

Thought for February 12, 2013. .......................................................................................... Why am I sharing this? This Scripture is on a daily calendar over 15 or 20 years old. ................................... Deuteronomy 28:13 - Prosperity in Business & Finance ................................................................... And the Lord shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the LORD thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them: ....................................................................................................................... Deuteronomy 28:13 ...................................................................................................... Scripture reference "Prosperity in Business & Finance" is taken/used from KJV Precious Promise Bible. ................... Now prosperity means different things to difference people. ............................................................ Maybe by the weekend I will be able to share a book review on leadership, but if not if the Lord says the same it will be next week. ............................................................................................................. This Bible - The Precious Promise Bible was sold to my late grandparents in 1923 by Rev. Solomon Nash. ................. I am assuming that they bought this Bible in MO. or MS. but I do not know to be exact.

Don't Touch Me Volume 1 .. Book Review

This book is about child sexual molestation and the road to healing. .................................................. My recommendations for healing would be to seek assistance from a trusted Christian Counselor, support group or Counseling. The Bible is also a great way to heal. .................................................................... The apostle Paul tells us in Philippians to press on. ................................................................. In order to completely heal you must forgive. You must forgive those who have harmed you or hurt you or your loved ones for Jesus forgave us. ................................................................................................. Watch and Pray. ...................................................................................................... There are wolves in sheep clothing as well so beware, be alert, be sober minded. .................................... This book reveals that Tweety as well as ourselves are imperfect people; and she is in the process of healing. ........ This book is designed to aid those with pain or painful pasts and to go on a journey of their own. .................... Tweety appreciates and appreciate every spiritual leader past and present who has ever been placed in her life and is thankful that God has kept her covered by the many prayers of her spiritual leaders. ................................. The names have been changed in this book in order to protect those still struggling with the fear of exposure. ........ Tweety is thankful for her husband and daughter who allowed her to expose details about their lives. .................. There is a journal as well for each reader to write their own experiences such as happy memories, unhappy memories and at the end of the journal are nine pages for each reader to write notes of their personal roads to healing. ........... What makes our lives so significant on this earth is the fact that everything has a purpose. .......................... She discovered that life's journey is designed to be a victorious journey, in spite of everything. Being healed from depression, low self-esteem, the disease of pleasing people, marital and family problems, and the stigma of abuse and molestation is what compelled her to write about her life. Everyone goes through pain at some point and time in their lives. ............................................................................................................... In order to be in healthy relationships and have healthy attitudes about life, many of our past issues need to be dealt with and then we can be on the road to healing. ....................................................................... It is always good to acknowledge pain and face the hurt. All pain matters because each individual matter. Pain can be something such as a disapproving look, but if it hurts then it is very significant and it is worth dealing with. ...... Tweety was able to forgive and release the person to God, in spite of their denial. ................................... Many times people carry hurtful scars into their adult lives without ever realizing the impact it has on how they handle life and relationships. Pain can lead to a maturing process towards positive change. She asks God to show her what she needed to learn in order to help her continue to grow and move forward in life instead of finding herself struck all the time and not moving forward. ........................................................................... Acknowledgement of hurt and anger is actually a positive start towards the healing journey and sometimes it takes courage to face pain. ................................................................................................ Excessive Baggage ..................................................................................................... Tweety held on to the baggage of a painful life of sexual abuse growing up. The difficult part of her life was facing the pain. ............................................................................................................. Are there some things that bother you from your childhood? ............................................................ She wanted to understand why her granddaddy sexual abused her. ........................................................ She discovered her granddaddy as a pedophile after she read and studied the characteristics of such. Pedophiles are adults who engage in sexual activities through contact with children. They use friendship, love, and trust to deceive. ................................................................................................................ The responsibility of adults is to display responsible and healthy behavior towards children. ........................ Any type of abuse can lead to low self-esteem, depression and deeper issues for some victims. ........................ A child can not seduce an adult who understands their proper role and responsibility to a child. ...................... Tweety wanted to matter so much she thought about the possibility of saying something out of desperation to try and make up with her abuser, Pastor Jacobs; this is how much she felt about being important. .............................. Understanding the mindset of Pastor Jacobs and her Granddaddy helped her to resolve a lot of guilt and allow her to begin the healing process. Pedophiles find ways to be around children as often as possible even though most people who work around children are not pedophiles. Pedophiles blend in with the mixture of morally upright people and are hard to weed out. ............................................................................................................ Children are raised by their parents and grown up and become parents as well. They end up following a lot of the same ways, traditions, and habits taught them. ............................................................................. She felt like she was loving her mother and daddy more than they were loving her. They didn't want granddaddy to go to jail. Deep in her subconscious, she didn't feel like granddaddy paid for his wrong doing. She had to live with this and it affected her even though they never saw him for many years. ........................................................ Thousands of victims just walk away from the situation and carry a lifetime of scars with them. ...................... Every time she kept silence, she left an open door for the person who needed to be stopped. She gave them the opportunity to keep on doing it to someone else. ..................................................................... You can't care about the abuser more than you love yourself and a world full of other innocent victims. ............... God never intends for people to be your total source. Each person has within them the power to seek wisdom from God personally. God often works through people, but you have to be careful to ensure that people are not your total source. Your main source should be God. She has respect for the spiritual leaders who God has placed in her life. ............ God knew her as well as all of us before we were formed in our mother's womb and He called us here with a divine purpose and destiny. .................................................................................................. You have to believe and have faith in God for yourself. .............................................................. Everything that happens in life has a reason. It's about choices, consequences and lessons. ........................... Rape is an act of aggression and is one of the most violent and dehumanizing forms of human abuse. A rapist may sexually assault, any woman regardless of age, appearance, social status or race. ..................................... I would like to add that you have to even talk to and make your young boys and smaller boys aware of this as well. ................................................................................ She grew up in a black Holiness Church most of her life. As children growing up in this church, they kept each other secrets of incest, rape, physical abuse, and pedophilia activities committed by family and some of the church leaders. ......................................................................................................... There's a fine line between serving God and being controlled by religious traditions. ................................. There is a difference between being religious and righteous. ......................................................... A church is only as strong and wise as its leaders. She has great respect for the people of God. ..................... She had given up on Church for many years until one day she learned to listen to her inner voice at home all alone in her room. ........................................................................................................... The Holy Spirit is our Guide, Leader and Present Help. ............................................................... She respects and appreciate every spiritual leader past and present who has ever been placed in her life and is thankful that God was keeping her covered by the many prayers of her spiritual leaders. ............................... Arteria Stevens sent me a free copy of her books for review. ......................................................... "Tweety" Arterial Stevens is the author of Don't Touch Me Volume 1. She was raised in a Black Holiness Church and raised in the projects of Atlanta, Georgia. Wounded throughout her child hood by sexual abuse, facing depression and low self-esteem. Facing her pain will allow her to heal, move beyond unforgiveness, become a better person and live a better life.

Gaining the Prize ... 1/27/2013

Sunday School Lesson for 1/27/2013. Unit II. Exalting Christ. Gaining the Prize. Philippians 3:12-16. ............................................................... Philippians 3:12-16 ... Paul, past and present (Warning Digression)................. What motivates us to press toward a goal? .......................................... Philippians 3:12,13,14 ... Man Redeemed; Duties and Graces of The New Life; Perfection, Absolute Perfection Not Found ............................................... verses 12,14 ... rules for running the Christian race .............................. On earth, no believer/Christian will reach spiritual perfection. Paul's example for us/christians is to continue to press for the goal - Heaven. ....................... Like the apostle Paul, we must strive to make peace with our past and move forward. ................................................................................. Paul's prize, as well as believer's prize is imperishable. Our prize is more valuable than runners in a game/contest. ................................................... Philippians 3:15a ... Man Redeemed; Blessedness of the New Life; Growth in Grace ................................................................................... Christians/believers have been made righteous before God; but we still have sinful natures. Believers/christians have no excuse to live as we please - even though we will never reach perfection on earth. When we sin, we should confess/repent to Jesus, whose blood cleanses us and returns us back to our positions of perfection. We will be pressing for spiritual perfection until Jesus presents us faultless before HIS Father in Heaven. ................................................................... Philippians 3:15b-16 .... Man Redeemed; Blessedness of The New Life; Growth in Grace .................................................................................. Christians/believers should have the same mind/attitude; this is what the apostle Paul was telling the Church at Philippi. ......................................... Christians have different levels of spiritual maturity. We should be focused on being more like Christ each day, anticipating His second coming - this is when Christians will become like Christ (Glorification - Romans 8:30). ............................ Believers are not to take credit for their accomplishments, but give God the Glory. (Matthew 5:45) ................................................................................. Matthew 5:45 ... Works of God; God's Providence Among Men; Sends Good & Evil to Good & Bad Alike...... God; Attributes of God As Person; God's Goodness. ......................... This lesson only has four verses but there were many Scriptures within the lesson that I read, studied and wrote notes on. Since it was so lengthy I have not shared it online but would gladly share if requested next week. ............................. The WWW/Internet provides an avenue that might not be available in your city, state, and or home location for possible network opportunities …. now this is the reason why I went to the Internet in 2000 and have not looked back. The Internet has given birth to a new Entrepreneurial Force on a Global Expansion that has and could be developing into greater ways for ministry as well as starting a home business and the growth of a home biz, possible job creation, and company growth for brick-and-mortar biz. There is no excuse for no ministry, organization, biz, or individual not to have a social media presence or own a blog. Blogs and social media at this moment are free.

Use your time wisely on social media and creating/marketing your blogs.

Personally I have had a free website, writing profiles, domains, and blogs ever since I have been online. Don’t think I had lots of money for I did not. I did though use free resources in all my daily activities from my home. (At a later date I will share more on this subject)

Holy Spirit – Comforter, Guide, Help …… Galatians 5:16-17, 18-21, 22-26; Acts 9:17-18; Acts 8:29-38

We are not to boast/belittle but uplift the Church/Kingdom of God – Colossians 3:23

Leadership – Mark 10:42; Romans 12:6,8; I Peter 4:10; Deuteronomy 1:13

Kindness – Luke 10:30-35; Matthew 25:31-46; Romans 12:8; Galatians 5:22 Kindness knows no race, color, social
background, but acts where there is a need. (This might be my gift … I don’t know what my gift is)

If someone does not receive you/me move on ………..

Gain & Loss .. 1/20/2013

Sunday School Lesson for 1/20/2013. Unit II. Exalting Christ. Gain and Loss. Philippians 3:7-11. ............................................................... Philippians 3:7-11 .... Paul: past and present (Warning Digression) ................ Philippians 3:7 - Man Redeemed; Justification; Faith the Instrumental Cause ......... Have you ever purposely accepted a short-term loss to achieve a long-term gain? Now if you/we/me have, compare those losses and gains with the Christian life. .......... The things that the apostle Paul had counted as a .... gain .... he now counted as a .... loss. ....................................................................... Paul left an amazing record for us; Christ was more valuable than anything he had or would ever "earn" in his self-righteous spiritual life. ............................ Philippians 3:8-9 ... Man Redeemed; Justification; Faith the Instrumental Cause ..... Justification (the past) - Philippians 3:7-9 ........................................ Sanctification (the present) - Philippians 3:10-14 .................................. Glorification (the future) - Philippians 3:15-16 .................................... The Law was not able to save mankind (Galatians 2:21) ............................... The apostle Paul in the past had been a sinner, but was made justified (Romans 4:3) with God (Romans 10:3) by faith (Romans 3:22; 10:8-10) in Jesus Christ (Philippians 3:9; II Corinthians 5:21) ........................................................... On the Cross at Calvary, God exchanged our sinfulness with Christ's righteousness (II Corinthians 5:21). No one can be saved on someone else's experience of Salvation. This is a personal matter, with continual faith in Christ. .......................... Philippians 3:10-11 ................................................................. Verse 10 - Jesus Christ; The Burial & Resurrection of Christ; Explanation, By New Testament Writers ................................................................... Verse 11 - Eschatology(Last Things); The Resurrection of The Body; The Believer's Longing ............................................................................. The apostle Paul was growing more like Christ through Christ's power (I Corinthians 6:11). .............................................................................. The only way to personally know and experience Christ was through experiential learning .... The apostle Paul wanted the Philippian Church to know that the study of God's Word would give them .... "book" .... knowledge of Christ (John 5:39; II Peter 3:18). ............................................................................... At the second coming of Christ we will experience resurrection/transformation (Philippians 3:21; I Thessalonians 4:13-18). ......................................... Self-worth of many people resides in accolades/honors/awards/material possessions they have and or their accomplishments in life...... Think on the true value of your(my) life when we are stripped of our achievements .... The apostle Paul believed that no achievement in the earthly life is worth anything when compared to the value of knowing Christ Jesus .... Value resides in everything, from the .... smallest ... and the ... last, ... this was stressed by Jesus in "The Parable of the Lost Sheep." ............................................................................ The Christian life requires growing in maturity to correctly evaluate the importance of secular and spiritual things. Growing and maturing in Christ requires constant commitment and re-commitment. ....................................................... The Saints of God must have complete trust in Christ. .............................. Scripture reference used/taken from: KJV Topical Reference Bible & Zondervan Bible Commentary

Entrepreneurship: Should It Be Promoted In Christian Ministries?

Why or why not should Entrepreneurship be promote in church ministry? .............. The Prophet Jeremiah Purchased Real Estate: Jeremiah 32:7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,25,43,44 ................................................. The Cross/Gospel/Ministry of Jesus Christ should not be compromised. ................ There are lost souls, people in need, children being abused, and people struggling for power and wealth. .............................................................. But, also in this day of economic downturn this subject could be studied and looked at by someone who has a greater insight and have studied extensively or who have Theological Training. ............................................................... I would recommend to allow the Holy Spirit to lead/guide those in the Leadership Role(s) of the Christian Ministry to decide whether or not to promote Entrepreneurship in the Church Ministry. ........................................... We attend Church in unity with the Saints of God to Worship the Lord and Praise the Lord. .............................................................................. Jesus’s Ministry was also meeting the needs of the people. Whether healing, raising the dead, teaching on how to obtain everlasting life. ............................... Everything should be done in order. ................................................. Civil & Social Life; Business Affairs; Inheritance; Birthright: Genesis 48:13,14,17,18,19 ................................................................... Business Habits; Honesty & Diligence: Proverbs 16:8; 22:29 .......................... Benefits of Trade: Genesis 34:20,21,22,23 ......................................... Fraud: Leviticus 19:11; I Thessalonians 4:6,7 ...................................... Man’s Original Employment; Before The Fall: Genesis 2:8,9,15 ....................... Man’s Original Employment After The Fall: Genesis 3:23; 4:2
