Tuesday - This Is The Messiah - John 7:37-43 - 11/21/16

Jesus in Galilee teacheth in the temple. What the people think of Jesus.

Verse 37 ... In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus' stood & cried saying,

Leviticus 23:36 ... Seven days ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD; on the eighth day shall be a holy convocation unto you, & ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD: it is a (day of restraint) solemn assembly & ye shall do no servile work therein.


John 7:37 ... If any man thirst, let him come unto me, & drink.

Revelation 22:17 ... And the Spirit & the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athrist cine, And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.


John 7:38 ... He that believeth on me, as the Scripture hat saith,...

Deuteronomy 18:15 ... The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken;

John 7:52 They answered & said unto him, Art thou also of Gal'i-lee? Search, & look: for out of Gal'i-lee ariseth no prophet.


John 7:42 ... Hath not the Scripture said, That Christ cometh of the seed of Da'vid, & out of the town of Beth'le-hem ...

Luke 2:4 ... (The taxation) And Jo'seph also went up from Gal'i-lee, out of the city of Naz'a-reth, into Ju-de'a, unto the city of Da'vid, which is called Beth'le-hem, (because he was of the house & lineage of Da'vid,)


John 7:42 ...where Da'vid was?

I Samuel 16:1,4 ... (Samuel sent to Beth-lehem to anoint one of the sons of Jesse) AND the LORD said unto Sam'u-el, How long wilt thou morn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Is'ra-el? fill thine horn with oil, & go, I will send thee to Jes'se the Beth'le-hem-itee: For I have provided me a king among his sons.

And Sam'u-el did that which the LORD spake, & came to Beth'le-hem. And the elders of the town trembled at his (meeting) coming & said, Comest thou peaceably?


John 7:43 ... So .. there was a division among the people because of him.

John 7:12 (goeth up to the feast of tabernacles) And there was much murmuring among the people concerning him: for some said, He is a good man: others said, Nay; but he deceiveth the people.

Ahaz (possesor), King of Judah, refuses to ask for a sign (Isaiah 7).

Virgin, Christ born of, Matthew 1:18; Luke 1:27.

Espoused, promise in marriage, Matthew 1:18; Luke 1:27; 2:5, to woo & win with reference to the Virgin Mary.

Immanuel (God with us).

Elisabeth, Grecized form of 'Elishaba, God her oath,' mother of John the Baptist.

Mary (Miriam), the Virgin, mother of Jesus.

Holy Ghost. As a Spirit (Eternal) The Teacher. The Comforter. Appoints Ministers where to preach the Gospel, HE teaches & Commissions HIS servants. Emblems of The Holy Spirit. Gifts of the Holy Spirit.

Gabriel (hero of God), archangel.

Galilee (circuit district), prophecy concerning.

Nazareth (twig, brushwood), in Isaiah connected with the word "branch." Low cliff above the town is probably the site of the attempt to precipitate Christ.

Joseph, husband of the Virgin.

Jesus (Joshua, Jeshua) Saviour - Son of God. Joshua (Jehovah is Salvation).

Juda, Judah (Jews - Israelites first called).

Zacharias, father of John the Baptist.
