Psalm 18 ... Royal Psalm of Thanksgiving. Slightly different version of this psalm is found in II Samuel 22. Source of protection & strength that God has proved Himself. David sought deliverance from extreme peril. Yahweh always deals righteously & faithfully with those who trust & obey Him. David success is only attributable to the activity of his God. David praises God.

Pardon for Sins & Iniquities Promised. Food Provided for the Lord's Children. The Upright Are Blessed & Prospered. Safety from All Harm & Danger Promised. Psalms of Supplication; Relative to Public Worship. Psalms of Adoration; of God's goodness & mercy. Of God's power, majesty, & glory. Solo hymn intended to stimulate the congregation to appreciate & praise God's Kingship & the implicit reference to the harvest in verse 15 suggest that it was sung at The autumn festival, the Feast of Tabernacles.
